RSP and Bibeksheel Sajha agree on key points in unification

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Bibeksheel Sajha Party on Sunday formally announced their unification, agreeing on key principles and organizational arrangements.

According to the agreement, RSP’s ideology and leadership structure will remain unchanged, while contributions of the Bibeksheel movement will be officially recognized. Leaders from Bibeksheel Sajha will be included in party leadership bodies at the central and local levels through mutual consensus. Responsibilities at all levels will be assigned on merit and inclusivity.

The unified party will retain the name Rastriya Swatantra Party, along with its existing flag and election symbol. Both parties will jointly complete the legal formalities with the Election Commission and, by mutual agreement, manage organisational assets and structures.

The unification also invites collaboration with other alternative political forces and individuals to work together on good governance and development agendas.

The agreement was signed by Bibeksheel Sajha Chair Samiksha Baskota, Vice-Chair Prakash Chandra Pariyar, and RSP Acting Chair Dol Prasad Aryal, along with Vice-Chair Dr. Swarnim Wagle.
