Unity of NRNA will prove to be a milestone: PM Karki

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Sushila Karki has said that the announcement of unity within the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) will prove to be a milestone.

Addressing the NRNA International Coordination Committee’s unity declaration program at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today, Prime Minister Karki urged Non-Resident Nepalis to understand the needs and interests of Nepalis living abroad and to contribute to Nepal’s development wherever they are by upholding the spirit of Nepali identity.

Prime Minister Karki assured that the government would make every effort to ensure the rights and facilities guaranteed to Non-Resident Nepalis under the constitution and the law.

“It is challenging for Nepalis to work abroad. Success comes only through hard work. Nepalis living abroad love their country and soil. Do whatever you can for your motherland,” said Prime Minister Karki.

“During the Gen-Z protests, significant damage was done to national heritage and other structures. It was like throwing stones into a calm pond. This needs to be assessed. We expect your continued support and suggestions for the country’s welfare and development.”

She further emphasized that those who lose elections should allow the winners to carry out their responsibilities, while preparing themselves for future opportunities. She added that political parties should also learn from the unity demonstrated by the Association.
