Kathmandu Valley’s minimum temperature drops slightly to 6.6°C

KATHMANDU: The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley dropped slightly on Sunday compared to Saturday.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the temperature measured at 5:45 am today was 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday, the minimum temperature was 7.0 degrees Celsius at the same time, falling to 6.7 degrees Celsius by 8:45 am. The Meteorological Division officially records the day’s minimum temperature at 8:45 am, so the final figure for today may be lower than the current reading.

While temperatures are generally decreasing across the country, slight fluctuations continue. Meteorologists explain that cloudy nights tend to raise the morning minimum temperature, whereas clear skies cause it to drop further.

The Division measures temperatures across various locations daily, including Kathmandu, recording minimum temperatures at 8:45 am and maximum temperatures at 5:45 pm. The day’s lowest and highest readings are recorded as the official minimum and maximum temperatures, respectively.
