Widespread rain likely as monsoon remains active

KATHMANDU: Monsoon and local wind systems continue to influence weather patterns across Nepal, bringing chances of rainfall throughout the country, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Currently, hilly areas across all provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies. There is a likelihood of rainfall in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as scattered showers in parts of the Terai.

The Division has forecast moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two locations in the Terai, with the possibility of heavy rain in isolated areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, while other regions will see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rain is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, with chances of light to moderate showers elsewhere.
