Madhav Kumar Nepal denies wrongdoing in Patanjali land case

KATHMANDU:  CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal has said he committed no wrongdoing in relation to the Patanjali land case.

Speaking at the third meeting of the Socialist Press Organization’s central committee in Kathmandu on Saturday, Nepal said he had acted in accordance with the constitution and the law, and therefore no fault could be attributed to him.

He argued that there was no legal basis for the claim that excess land had been permitted, adding that he had done nothing against the law and was prepared to firmly face the accusations.

Nepal also dismissed speculation that the Unified Socialist would merge with another party, saying instead that his party would move forward in cooperation with like-minded groups to strengthen the Socialist Alliance.

He further stressed the need for broader collaboration among communist forces to come together under one front, adding that the rationale for revolt was becoming increasingly evident.
