Kaligandaki Corridor blocked by landslide in Baglung section

BAGLUNG: Continuous rainfall has triggered a landslide that blocked the Baglung section of the Kaligandaki Corridor, a national pride project, early this morning.

According to Keshav Thapa, information officer at the Baglung District Police Office, the landslide occurred at Kalakhola in Baglung Municipality-13, completely obstructing vehicular movement along the stretch.

Authorities said this is not the first time a major landslide has struck the Kalakhola area, which has seen repeated disruptions in the past. The scale of the landslide has made clearance operations difficult.

The Kaligandaki Corridor Project, local contractors, and Baglung Municipality have stated that efforts to reopen the road will begin once the rainfall subsides.
