According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the blaze was sparked by an electrical short circuit at the one-storey tin-roofed house owned by local resident Moti Bahadur Khadka, where the Khadka Furniture Industry was being operated.

The fire destroyed all timber and a wood-cutting machine inside the facility. Firefighters from Birtamod Municipality, local residents, and police personnel worked together to bring the fire under control.
