Earthquake jolts Mugu



MUGU: An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck the Kotdanda area of Mugu district on Monday morning, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Lainchaur.

The tremor was recorded at 8:39 AM with its epicenter located around Kotdanda. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received so far.

This follows another tremor of magnitude 4.8 recorded on Sunday with its epicenter near Jima in the same district.

Small and moderate earthquakes have been occurring frequently across Nepal in recent months. As a part of the Himalayan belt, Nepal is considered a high-risk zone for seismic activity. Authorities have reiterated the need for preparedness and awareness in light of the region’s geological vulnerability.
