Ridi–Wamitaksar road blocked by landslide

GULMI: Continuous rainfall on Sunday night triggered a landslide, completely blocking the Ridi–Wamitaksar road section near Tallofant, on the border of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-8 and Musikot Municipality-5.

Following the landslide, all vehicular movement along the road came to a halt. The road is a key route connecting Ridi and Wamitaksar to Palpa and Butwal and sees high traffic volumes daily.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Shivdhan Prasad Kathariya from Majuwa Police Post has been deployed to the site to begin clearance efforts.

Several vehicles traveling from Wamitaksar to Palpa and Butwal via Ridi have been stranded midway due to the obstruction.

Authorities are working to clear the debris and restore traffic, but continuous rainfall could hamper progress.
