Today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign currency exchange rates for today (Friday), showing a general rise in the value of major currencies such as the US dollar, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinars, and the British pound.

However, the euro has slightly depreciated, continuing a downward trend seen since yesterday.

As of today, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 136.52 and the selling rate is Rs 137.12, up from yesterday’s rates of Rs 136.28 and Rs 136.88, respectively.

For context, the highest recorded rate for the US dollar in the Nepali market was on Magh 25, when the buying and selling rates reached Rs 139.83 and Rs 140.43.

The euro’s value has dipped slightly, with today’s buying rate at Rs 154.07 and selling rate at Rs 154.75, down from yesterday’s Rs 154.32 and Rs 155.00.

Similarly, the British pound, on the other hand, has appreciated slightly in buying value to Rs 183.86, though the selling rate has dropped to Rs 184.67 from Rs 188.58 yesterday.

The Australian dollar is also up marginally, with today’s buying and selling rates at Rs 87.87 and Rs 88.26, compared to Rs 87.74 and Rs 88.13 yesterday.

The Kuwaiti dinar has strengthened as well, with rates at Rs 444.60 (buying) and Rs 446.56 (selling), up from Rs 444.02 and Rs 445.98.

Similarly, the Bahraini dinar has seen a slight increase, now trading at Rs 362.12 (buying) and Rs 363.71 (selling), compared to yesterday’s Rs 361.47 and Rs 363.06.
