KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Madhav Sapkota has accused ruling party lawmakers of behaving aggressively in Parliament, even to the point of physical intimidation.
Speaking to journalists at the Parliament building in Baneshwar on Sunday, Sapkota claimed that ruling party lawmakers were acting more aggressively than opposition members and were engaging in actions that could lead to physical altercations.
Sapkota criticized the ruling party and the prime minister for being irresponsible towards Parliament, stating that the situation was becoming more complicated.
He insisted that the prime minister must seriously address the recent national issues and opposition demands in Parliament instead of remaining passive.
He further alleged that there were deliberate attempts to push legislative proceedings forward forcefully and accused the government of intentionally halting the live broadcast of the House of Representatives.
Sapkota warned that the opposition would continue its protest until the prime minister provides a response in Parliament.
