Rabi Lamichhane set to return to party responsibilities

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is set to resume his party responsibilities after being arrested in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

Lamichhane faces an ongoing cooperative case in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Butwal.

Following his arrest, the party’s secretariat meeting appointed Vice Chair DP Aryal as acting chair.

Lamichhane is expected to be reinstated as a member of the party during a special central committee meeting on Monday afternoon.

Acting spokesperson Manish Jha confirmed that two consecutive meetings will be held at the party’s central office.

The meeting, which will include Lamichhane, will feature a brief report on the party’s activities, as well as updates from the house and its members.
