PM Oli acknowledges cultural significance of Sonam Lhosar



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has highlighted the cultural importance of Sonam Lhosar, particularly the performances featuring selo and damphu drums.

Extending his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar, the New Year of the Tamang community, PM Oli shared a message on social media, saying, “Today marks Sonam Lhosar, the New Year of the Tamang community. I recall the vibrant multi-colored flags flying atop houses and monasteries.”

The Prime Minister also emphasized the cultural significance of the festival and its traditional performances. He extended his best wishes to jhamman (all) nanaanga (sisters) and jyojyoale (brothers) on this special occasion.
