Former King Shah to visit Gorakhpur today



KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah is set to visit Gorakhpur, India, today.

During his visit, he will offer special prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple, according to Shah’s communication secretary, Phaniraj Pathak.

The former king has been in Bhairahawa for the past few days.

It is a longstanding tradition for former kings to offer ‘khichadi’ at the Gorakhnath Temple, and Shah is visiting to uphold this custom.

Pathak also confirmed that Shah is scheduled to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his time in Gorakhpur.

Chief Minister Adityanath is expected to visit the Gorakhnath Temple today to meet with the former king.
