Police arrest gang for cheating Rs 500,000 with fake gold



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested a gang that allegedly cheated people of Rs 500,000 by giving fake gold.

A team from Police Circle, Boudha, apprehended the gang in Thali, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-5, Kathmandu. The suspects reportedly used metal disguised as gold to deceive victims.

Those arrested include Sukuman Singh Blon (45) from Indrasarovar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur; Rajendra Tamang (48) from the same district; Bir Bahadur Tamang (53) from Bakaiya Rural Municipality, Makwanpur; and Jit Bahadur Tamang (42) from Devchuli, Nawalparasi.

DSP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for Kathmandu District Police, confirmed the arrests, stating that all four are being investigated under charges of fraud. The District Court has extended their detention for further investigation.
