Nepali Congress meeting postponed again
The Nepali Congress has postponed its Central Working Committee meeting. The meeting, originally scheduled for November 30, will now be held on Monday, December 1, at 2 PM. It will take place at the party’s central office, B.P. Smriti Bhawan, Lalitpur. According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, all office bearers, central members, invited members, and the chairpersons of all seven provincial committees have been requested to attend.
Sudurpaschim Royals enter NPL playoffs with perfect record
Sudurpaschim Royals have become the first team to reach the playoffs of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), maintaining a perfect winning record in all five matches played so far. On Saturday, Sudurpaschim defeated defending champions Janakpur Bolts and secured their spot in the playoffs with two league matches still remaining.
Prachanda: Communist unity needed to resist foreign interference
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, has stated that communist forces have united to resist foreign elements that challenge the Nepali people’s right to self-determination. Speaking at a unity message gathering in Deukhuri, Dang on Saturday, he said the unification aims to confront reactionary and interventionist foreign forces by taking the people into confidence.
Buddha airplane hit by bird during landing in Pokhara
A Buddha Air aircraft traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara was struck by a bird while landing this afternoon. According to Gautam Baral, Station Manager of Buddha Air in Pokhara, the incident occurred at around 3:45 PM at Pokhara International Airport. The aircraft’s propeller blade sustained minor damage following the bird strike. Baral confirmed that all passengers and crew members onboard are safe, and the situation is under control.

A new momentum has swept across Kathmandu Valley’s roads as Minister Kulman Ghising’s intervention has triggered round-the-clock pothole repairs in major corridors of the city, an unprecedented pace for a problem that has long frustrated commuters. For years, narrow roads, dense traffic and waterlogged craters have made Kathmandu’s streets hazardous. But the interim government’s intensified campaign, led directly by the Energy, Water Resources, Urban Development and Physical Infrastructure Minister, has brought visible changes within days.
Nepal U-19 secure Asia Cup berth after crushing Malaysia in semis
Nepal’s U-19 cricket team has qualified for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup after defeating Malaysia by nine wickets in the semifinal today. Chasing a 52-run target at the Ajman ground in the UAE, Nepal reached 53/1 in just 7.5 overs. Bansh Kshetri scored an unbeaten 23, while Nischal Kshetri remained not out on 15. Malaysia’s Mohammad Akram took the lone wicket. Earlier, put in to bat, Malaysia were bowled out for 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Hamzah Pangi top-scored with 13 and Muhammad Fathul Muin added 11, while the rest of the lineup failed to reach double figures.
Lumbini Lions clinch second win of NPL Season 2 with 3-wicket victory over Pokhara
Lumbini Lions registered their second win of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, defeating Pokhara Avengers by three wickets on Saturday at the TU International Cricket Ground. Earlier, Pokhara posted 150 runs after a brilliant fifth-wicket partnership between Adam Rossington and Jimmy Neesham. Rossington hammered 81 off 63 balls with seven fours and five sixes, while Neesham remained unbeaten on 51 off 32 deliveries. The duo added 92 runs to lift Pokhara from early trouble. Sher Malla and Tilak Bhandari took two wickets each for Lumbini, with Gulbadin Naib adding one.
Nepal honored as Best Adventure Tourism Destination at IITM Pune
Nepal has been honored as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune. The award was presented during the IITM Awards Night 2025, organized from November 27 to 29. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) representatives, Board Member Narendra Bhatta and Senior Officer Narayan Basyal, received the recognition on behalf of Nepal. During the ‘Destination Presentation’ session at the event, NTB Senior Officer Robin Regmi showcased Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions, including the Buddha Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, cross-border eco-trails, UNESCO World Heritage sites, spiritual pilgrimage routes, world-class trekking, mountaineering opportunities, and a wide range of adventure sports.
NC leadership to hold another round of talks today as dispute over 15th General Convention persists
Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba is holding another round of talks with Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka and General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma today as the party remains divided over the timing of its 15th General Convention. The meeting is scheduled for 2 PM at President Deuba’s temporary residence in Maharajgunj.The NC has repeatedly postponed its Central Committee meeting amid deepening disagreements over when to hold the convention. In an effort to break the deadlock, Acting President Khadka and the two General Secretaries have been engaged in discussions with Deuba since Thursday.
Manang records arrival of over 16,000 tourists in first four months of fiscal year
A total of 16,296 tourists visited Manang in the first four months of the current fiscal year, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). ACAP Manang Office Chief Dhak Bahadur Bhujel said visitors from 107 countries entered the region during the reporting period. Of the total arrivals, 812 men and 177 women were from SAARC nations. Likewise, 9,695 men and 6,601 women from other countries trekked through the Himalayan district.
Nepal–EU Joint Commission reviews cooperation, Brussels meeting praises interim government’s reform focus
The 16th meeting of the Nepal–European Union Joint Commission concluded in Brussels on Friday, with both sides reviewing a wide range of issues including development cooperation, trade, climate change, regional connectivity and multilateral engagement. According to the Embassy of Nepal in Brussels, the two sides noted that Nepal–EU relations have continued to progress positively, with expanding cooperation from development partnership to people-to-people ties.
Nepali eggs receive revised price enabling farmers to recover production costs
With the onset of colder weather and tighter monitoring along the Indian border, the demand for Nepali eggs has risen, allowing farmers to secure better market prices. The Nepal Layer Poultry Farmers Association has implemented new prices from today, ensuring farmers can recover their production costs. A meeting of the Association on Friday discussed domestic egg production and market conditions before announcing a new minimum support price, Association Chairperson Binod Pokharel said. According to the updated price list, which is based on farmers’ production costs, egg prices have increased significantly.
Petroleum imports worth Rs 54.12 billion enter Nepal via Birgunj in four months
Nepal imported petroleum products worth Rs 54.12 billion through the Birgunj border point in the first four months of the current fiscal year. According to the Birgunj Customs Office, the imports include diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation turbine fuel (ATF), and kerosene. The government collected Rs 22.90 billion in revenue from these imports.
Deuba rejects call for special convention, NC preparing regular convention for January
The Nepali Congress is preparing to unveil the schedule for its 15th General Convention by the end of Poush, with the party leadership signaling that the long-running dispute over holding a regular or special convention is now moving toward resolution. Sunday’s Central Committee meeting is expected to table the convention schedule after weeks of deadlock since October 14. Amid growing internal division, party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who had earlier delegated the responsibility to Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, has stepped in personally to settle the dispute. Over the past three days, Deuba held consecutive rounds of discussions with office bearers and senior leaders.
