Water level rising in Bagmati River, public urged to stay cautious near riverbanks



KATHMANDU: With continuous rainfall since Saturday night in Kathmandu and several other parts of the country, water levels in rivers and streams are rising steadily.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the water level at the Bagmati River’s Gaurighat monitoring station in Kathmandu has approached the alert mark. The department has urged people traveling along riverbanks or residing near the river to exercise caution and remain in safe areas.
