Industries relocating from Kathmandu to receive free land on lease

KATHMANDU: In a move aimed at reducing pollution in the Kathmandu Valley, the government has announced that industries relocating out of the capital will be provided land on a free lease basis.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2025/26 in the Federal Parliament, said the policy is intended to encourage the decentralization of industries and address environmental concerns in the capital.

“To reduce pollution in Kathmandu, industries that shift their operations outside the Valley will be offered land free of charge on lease,” Paudel said.
