‘Ensure investment climate for innovation’

KATHMANDU: The stakeholders have underlined the need for adopting one-door system by wiping out legal hurdles and creating atmosphere for investment in small and mid-scale industries relating to innovation.

They made such plea before the government and political leaderships during an ‘innovation and SME conference’ organized by the Nepali Congress’ Department of Industry and Small and Mid-Scale Entrepreneurship Development.

In the conference that kicked off on Wednesday, FNCCI Chairman Chandra Dhakal appreciated that the ordinances brought by government were positive to spur economic activities. “I laud the recent ordinances and urge the government to enforce these without delay,” he said.

Chairwoman of Nepal Women Entrepreneurs’ Federation, Shova Gyawali, said use of Nepali products must be prioritized. “Economic networking counts much to run industries and enterprises, so the bank and financial institutions must trust the industries,” she stressed.

Chief Executive Officer of Business Oxygen, Siddanta Raj Pande, viewed it is high time Nepal created a favourable atmosphere to retain youths within country by wiping out legal hurdles in the investment and industrial operation.

Director at Chaudhari Group, Nirvan Chaudhary, however, claimed that the financial institutions had played a significant role in creating investment atmosphere in the country.
