Socialist Front to hold mass gathering in Kathmandu, Biplab remains coordinator



KATHMANDU: The Socialist Front, led by the CPN (Maoist Centre), has announced a mass gathering in Kathmandu on Magh 24.

The decision was made during a meeting held at the central office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in Aloknagar.

The meeting also decided to organize another mass gathering in Madhesh Province in the first week of Chaitra, with Nepal Samajbadi Party, led by Mahindra Raya Yadav, responsible for organizing the event.

Additionally, the front decided to intensify efforts to bring like-minded parties into the alliance. The meeting reaffirmed Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’ as the coordinator of the front.

Key leaders, including Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Unified Socialist chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand, and Nepal Samajbadi Party chair Mahindra Raya Yadav, attended the meeting.

Earlier, Upendra Yadav’s Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) exited the front after the party split in Baisakh 2081. Yadav left the alliance after his party was divided while Prachanda was the prime minister.

The front had recently organized a discussion program at Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi, on the current national political scenario and the role of the Socialist Front.
