Tea worth Rs 1.37 billion exported from eastern border port



JHAPA: Tea worth Rs 1.37 billion was exported from the eastern border point of Kakadbhitta in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

According to Ishwor Kumar Humagain, Information Officer at the Mechi Customs Office, 4,688,932 kilograms of tea were exported to India during the review period. This is 37 percent less than during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the same period last fiscal year, tea worth Rs 2.20 billion was exported. This is Rs 831.76 million more than the export value recorded this fiscal year.
