KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to hold its Secretariat meeting on Saturday (November 1) to finalize preparations for the party’s 11th General Convention.
According to the party, the meeting will discuss and decide on various issues related to the upcoming convention.
Earlier, the UML Central Committee meeting held from October 15 to 17 had decided to organize the General Convention in Pokhara from November 13 to 15.
Party Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari said Saturday’s meeting will take decisions concerning delegate selection procedures, the formation of sub-committees for convention management, and coordination with local organizers.
A Secretariat member informed that the meeting will also unveil the overall framework for the convention and hold discussions on its official logo and slogan.
Preparatory works have already begun under the Gandaki Province Committee, Kaski District Committee, and Pokhara Metropolitan Committee.
After the party’s central office in Chyasal was damaged by fire during the Gen-Z protests in early September, UML has been operating its daily and convention-related activities from a temporary office set up under tents at the same site.
