Heavy snowfall hits Mustang

KATHMANDU: Heavy snowfall has been reported in Mustang district since last night, affecting daily life across the Himalayan region.

Following continuous snowfall, the revered Muktinath Temple has been completely blanketed in snow. Local authorities have urged travelers to avoid planning trips to Mustang until weather conditions improve.

Along with Mustang, rainfall has begun in several parts of Myagdi, Parbat, and Baglung districts, while higher altitude areas are witnessing snowfall.

Similarly, most parts of Chumnubri Rural Municipality in northern Gorkha have also experienced heavy snowfall since last night. The region lies beyond the Himalayas and remains cut off due to adverse weather.

In Manang, snowfall has been reported in Nisyang Rural Municipality as well. The local administration there has issued a notice urging trekkers and residents to refrain from mountain travel for the time being.
