4.3-magnitude tremor hits Sankhuwasabha



KATHMANDU: An earthquake struck Sankhuwasabha this morning (Tuesday), with its epicenter near Kimathanka, a border area with Tibet.

According to the National Seismological Measurement and Research Center, the tremor measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and occurred at 7:32 am.

Dr. Lok Bijay Adhikari, a senior seismologist at the center, said that earthquakes below magnitude 5 are unlikely to cause any damage. “This is a normal earthquake,” he said.
