NC says no tea reception this year



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has said it would not organize a tea reception on Kojagrat purnima this year.

The party used to conduct the tea party to exchange festival greetings since 2033 BS, the year iconic leader BP Koirala returned from exile with the policy of ‘national unity and reconciliation’.

Issuing a press statement, Chief Secretary at NC central office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, informed that the party would not hold the tea reception this year reasoning that Nepal was mourning on the eve of the festival.

“Entire country is aggrieved and NC party offices are destroyed. At such moment, the party is for national unity and reconciliation,” he said, adding that there would not be the tea reception and greetings programme this time.
