CPN-UML holding Secretariat meeting today

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is holding a Secretariat meeting today at 1 pm at the rented residence of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Gundu, Bhaktapur.

This is the first secretariat meeting since the Gen-Z protests. Taking place amid growing questions about the party leadership following the youth movement, the meeting is drawing significant attention.

The agenda is expected to cover the Gen-Z protests, the loss of life and property during the unrest, the role of the then government led by Oli, and the party’s future direction.

UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali stated that the secretariat will review recent political developments and make necessary decisions.

The protests on September 8 and 9 resulted in 74 deaths and caused billions of rupees in damage to both government and private property.
