Judicial Service Commission promotes Bimal Poudel to Chief Registrar of Supreme Court



KATHMANDU: The Judicial Service Commission has promoted Supreme Court Registrar Bimal Poudel to the post of Chief Registrar.

Poudel replaces Devendra Raj Dhakal, who retired on Sunday after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 58. The Commission’s meeting on Monday decided on Poudel’s promotion.

Following Poudel’s elevation, Deputy Registrar Man Bahadur Karki has been promoted to Registrar, effective from Monday.

In other promotions, Deputy Attorney General Surya Raj Dahal from the Office of the Attorney General has been promoted to Secretary and posted to the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons.

Similarly, Nirmala Adhikari, Under-Secretary at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, has also been promoted to Secretary and retained in her current commission.

Indira Dahal Bhattarai, an Under-Secretary at the Election Commission, has also been promoted to Secretary and posted to the Nepal Law Commission.
