Thousands of Bolbam pilgrims throng Sundarijal



KATHMANDU: Thousands of Bolbam pilgrims gathered early this morning at Sundarijal to participate in the Bolbam Yatra, marking the second Monday of the Shrawan month.

Every year during Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), devotees collect sacred water from Sundarijal and offer it at the Pashupatinath Temple as part of the religious ritual.

The Bolbam Kanwariya Association and Sanatan Yuwa Manch organized today’s Bolbam Yatra from Sundarijal to Pashupatinath. Special arrangements have also been made for devotees to offer water at the Pashupatinath area.

According to the Nepal Police Range at Sundarijal, as many as 10,000 devotees are expected to take part in the yatra today. Suvashchandra Joshi, Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, stated that all four doors of the Pashupatinath Temple were opened from 3:00 am to accommodate the devotees.
