PM Oli credits SEE result improvement to students and teachers

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has praised students and teachers for their hard work in improving the results of this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE), saying it marks a positive shift after several years of stagnation.

Addressing Saturday’s session of the House of Representatives, PM Oli said, “The improvement in the SEE results is a matter of joy. The pass rate rising from below 48 percent to 61.81 percent is a significant achievement.”

The prime minister also extended his congratulations to the students and teachers, calling their effort commendable. However, he criticized those who have questioned the credibility of the results.

“Some have made baseless remarks, claiming students were passed by inflating scores. Such comments undermine the hard work of students and insult the new generation’s spirit,” Oli said. “It is disheartening to see such unwarranted negativity.”

In the same address, Oli highlighted the government’s preparedness in the face of natural disasters during the ongoing monsoon season.

“Nepal is a disaster-prone country. While we cannot predict exactly where or when disasters will strike, we are prioritizing disaster preparedness and response,” he said.

The prime minister said the government has already taken steps to ensure effective rescue and relief operations to mitigate the impacts of floods and landslides.
