KATHMANDU: The government has requested India and China to provide 42 additional Bailey bridges to help restore connectivity in flood-affected areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote to the two neighboring countries on Friday, requesting the provision of 42 Bailey bridges.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport said 41 bridges in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading were completely damaged by Wednesday’s floods. According to the ministry, Nepal currently has only seven Bailey bridges in stock.
