Water taps installed for deprived community in Shuklaphanta Municipality

KANCHANPUR: Free water taps have been installed at the homes of poor, freed laborers, and marginalized families in Ward No. 10 of Shuklaphanta Municipality.

Ward Chairperson Lal Bahadur Air stated that the initiative was carried out in coordination with the Drinking Water and Sanitation Committee, with funding provided by the local government.

According to Chairperson Air, the project benefited 15 households and was completed with a budget of Rs. 100,000.

Local resident Chaita Rana, who works as a daily wage laborer, expressed relief: “I had no means to install a water tap. With this support, we now have access to safe drinking water right at our doorstep.”

Residents shared that the project has ended their dependence on potentially unsafe hand pump water, significantly improving their daily lives.
