HoR meeting postponed until 1 pm tomorrow amid opposition obstruction

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed until 1 pm tomorrow after it failed to convene as scheduled at 3:30 pm today.

The session, originally scheduled for the afternoon, was disrupted due to continued obstruction by opposition parties demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the visit visa controversy.

In response to the protest, Speaker Devraj Ghimire had initially postponed the meeting for half an hour. However, with opposition parties remaining firm in their stance not to allow parliamentary proceedings until the minister steps down, the Speaker rescheduled the session for 3:30 pm by posting a notice.

When consensus was still not reached by the rescheduled time, the meeting was once again postponed — this time until 1 pm tomorrow.
