Landslide blocks Dang–Salyan road section along Rapti Highway

SALYAN: The Dang–Salyan road section along the Rapti Highway has been completely blocked due to a landslide that occurred early Wednesday morning.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Keshar Nyaupane of the Salyan District Police Office, the landslide struck at Chor Khola in Kapurkot Rural Municipality–3, cutting off all traffic along the route. “Efforts are underway to clear the debris using an excavator,” DSP Nyaupane stated.

The road blockage has left passengers and vehicles stranded. Long-distance buses and freight trucks have come to a standstill due to the obstruction.

Police have urged drivers of smaller vehicles to use alternative routes via Kapurkot–Lamidanda and Kapurkot–Pakhapani–Saatbas.

Authorities including the police, local government, and disaster response teams are working to restore road access as soon as possible.
