Light to moderate rainfall with lightning likely today



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the country is currently influenced by westerly and local winds, along with partial moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Division, the weather is partly cloudy to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, while other areas remain mainly clear to partly cloudy.

Light rainfall accompanied by lightning has been observed at one or two locations in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly areas, including Lumbini province, will experience partly to generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will be mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall with lightning at several places in the hilly regions, and light rainfall with lightning at one or two locations elsewhere.

Additionally, light rain mixed with snowfall is possible at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, light to moderate rain with lightning is expected at a few locations in the hilly areas of the remaining provinces, including Bagmati and Gandaki, with isolated occurrences elsewhere.
