Seventeen buffaloes killed in lightning strike



SANKHUWASABHA: Seventeen buffaloes were killed after being struck by lightning in Lopatal, Makalu Rural Municipality-3, Sankhuwasabha.

The buffaloes were grazing in the forest when the lightning strike occurred during rainfall, according to Police Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane from the District Police Office.

The buffaloes belonged to Pushpalal Bhandari and Prem Prasad Bhandari of Makalu-3, who have incurred a loss of over Rs 1 million.

Following the report of the incident, a team from the Area Police Office Hedangnagadhi quickly responded and reached the site, which is located 35 kilometers from the office.
