Two killed in lightning strike in Kaski



KASKI: Two people were killed in a lightning strike in Kaski on Sunday. According to the District Police Office, Kaski, the incident occurred in Annapurna Rural Municipality-11.

The victims have been identified as Bharat Kumar Rai and Mahesh Rai, both from Silichong Rural Municipality-4 in Sankhuwasabha.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Sharma, spokesperson for Kaski Police, confirmed that the two men died instantly when a lightning strike, accompanied by strong winds and rain, struck while they were working on the construction of the Tribeni Lake trekking route in Annapurna-11.

A police team, led by Police Inspector Rajkumar KC, has been dispatched to the location.

Police have stated that the bodies will be transported to the hospital for autopsies.
