RPP-Nepal shifts today’s protest venue

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) has changed the venue of its planned protest in Kathmandu scheduled for today (April 28).

Originally set to take place at Bhrikuti Mandap, the protest will now be held at Shanti Batika in Ratna Park, according to a press release issued by the party. The demonstration is set to begin at 1:30 PM.

The protest is being organized to demand the release of RPP Senior Vice Chair Rabindra Mishra, who was arrested following a pro-monarchy demonstration in Tinkune, Kathmandu on March 28.

RPP General Secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who was detained alongside Mishra, was released on bail this Sunday for medical treatment. However, Mishra, Durga Prasai, and several others remain in custody.

While the RPP Nepal has not specified the reason for the venue change, Bhrikuti Mandap is within a government-designated restricted area.
