Home Ministry holds Durga Prasai and organizers responsible for damage in violent royalist protest

KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry has held Durga Prasai and the organizers of the royalist protests responsible for the violence and damage that occurred during today’s chaotic demonstrations in Tinkune.

Chhabi Rijal, Joint Secretary at the Home Ministry, addressed the media, highlighting that the royalist movement turned into an anarchic protest under the leadership of Durga Prasai.

Rijal made it clear that Prasai and other protest leaders are accountable for the destruction caused by the royalists, which included the burning of properties, media houses, and party offices.

“The organizers, particularly Durga Prasai, must take full responsibility for the damages caused today,” said Rijal, condemning the protest’s violent turn. He assured that authorities are closely monitoring those involved and that justice will be served.

The Home Ministry also expressed regret over the escalating violence and pledged to hold those responsible for instigating the unrest accountable for their actions.
