Royalist vandalise Unified Socialist Party office

KATHMANDU: Royalist protesters have vandalized the central office of the Unified Socialist Party in Aloknagar, escalating the violence that erupted in Tinkune on Friday.

A group of demonstrators crossed the Bagmati River and stormed the party’s headquarters, pelting stones and breaking almost all the windows.

Witnesses reported that protesters also removed documents from the office and set them on fire.

Despite the severity of the attack, security personnel were not immediately present at the scene when the demonstrators attempted to set fire to the office.
