KATHMANDU: A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Bhairavkunda in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 of Sindhupalchowk at 2:51 am on Friday, causing minor damage but no major casualties.

According to Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa, the situation is now under control.
