Nepali Congress to revise General Convention schedule

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to revise the schedule of its general convention.

The ongoing meetings of the party’s Central Executive Committee for the past few days have focused on ensuring that the regular general convention is held on time, prompting the need to adjust the schedule accordingly.

At a meeting held on Saturday at the party office in Sanepa, members emphasized the importance of creating a practical timetable that allows the convention to take place as scheduled. After the meeting, party leader Meen Bishwakarma said the revision was necessary as work according to the previous schedule could not be completed, and the updated schedule will ensure the general convention is held on time.

He added that since the issue of active membership could not be finalized by December 23, other schedules would be affected, making it necessary to prepare a revised timetable.

Bishwakarma noted that most members stressed the need to implement policy and leadership transformation from the ward level up to the central level as the party moves forward.
