Kailali Committee of Unified Socialist rejects joining Prachanda-led NCP, opts out of unification

KAILALI: The majority of the Kailali District Committee of the former Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN (Unified Socialist) has decided not to join the unification process with the Nepali Communist Party (NCP).

District Committee Chairman Bimal Joshi stated that out of 121 members, 91 participants in a committee meeting resolved against joining the unification. Secretary Dhiraj Joshi also agreed with the decision, Joshi added.

“We have observed that a true communist party cannot exist under the leadership of either KP Sharma Oli of CPN-UML or Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of NCP. Therefore, we have decided not to join either party,” Joshi said.

He emphasized that the committee will not join the Prachanda-led NCP or the Oli-led UML. “We will announce our next course of action soon,” he added.

The decision comes ahead of a public assembly scheduled in Dhangadhi on Friday, where Prachanda and Madhav Nepal are expected to address party members. Meanwhile, the Kailali District Committee has expressed dissent against Madhav Nepal’s move. The assembly will be led locally by leader Dr. Bhim Rawal.
