KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a new NPR 100 note, which comes into circulation starting today, the central bank announced in an official statement.
The newly released note carries the same pledge as previous notes: “On demand, the Nepal Rastra Bank will pay the bearer one hundred rupees guaranteed by the Government of Nepal.”
The note features Mount Everest on the left and a rhododendron watermark on the right. The central area includes a map of Nepal and the Ashoka Pillar. A tactile black dot has been added to help visually impaired individuals identify the note by touch. Additionally, the note contains an oval-shaped silver metallic portrait of Mayadevi on the left side.
For security, the note is equipped with a 2 mm-wide color-shifting security thread that appears red when viewed straight and green when tilted.
The note also bears the signature of the then-Governor, Mahaprasad Adhikari.
