Rain and snowfall likely from tonight

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light to moderate rainfall and snowfall across parts of the country from tonight due to the influence of a westerly wind system and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, this weather system is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snowfall from the night of October 27 until the morning of October 29.

Light to moderate precipitation is likely in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in a few hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces. A few high-altitude areas of Gandaki Province may also experience heavy snowfall.

The division has advised the public to take necessary precautions, as the weather conditions may affect daily life, mountaineering, agriculture, and tourism activities.

The department said it is closely monitoring the system and will continue to issue updates accordingly.
