144 new dengue cases reported across Nepal in the past week



KATHMANDU: Nepal has recorded 144 new cases of dengue across the country in the past week, indicating that the mosquito-borne disease continues to spread even beyond the usual monsoon season.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), 24 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours alone, bringing the total number of dengue cases in Nepal to 6,668.

EDCD data shows that Bagmati Province has reported the highest number of cases, with 1,649 people infected. It is followed by Gandaki with 1,631 cases, Lumbini with 1,117, Koshi with 895, Sudurpaschim with 762, Karnali with 474, and Madhesh with 139 cases.

Health authorities continue to urge the public to maintain mosquito control measures and personal protection as dengue infections persist in several regions.
