Nation witnessing impact of westerly winds



KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly winds combined with a low-pressure system that has developed over the Arabian Sea.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, this afternoon the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to remain generally partly cloudy, while partly cloudy conditions will also prevail in most parts of the Tarai.

The Department has forecast the possibility of light rainfall or snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of all provinces.

Tonight, skies are expected to become mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining Tarai regions will see partly cloudy conditions.

The latest weather bulletin from the department indicates a chance of moderate rain or snowfall in some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, and light precipitation at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Lumbini and other provinces.
