PM Karki calls for promotion of overlooked tourist destinations

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has highlighted the need to identify, promote, and develop overlooked tourist destinations to boost foreign exchange earnings, generate employment, and increase income.

In a message on the occasion of the 46th World Tourism Day, the Prime Minister highlighted Nepal’s unique natural beauty, rich biodiversity, multi-ethnic and multilingual culture, and world-famous mountains as factors that make the country an attractive destination for tourists.

“Tourism must become a strong foundation for the national economy. Although the sector faced challenges due to the recent Gen-Z movement, recovery efforts have already begun,” PM Karki said.
