Nepali Army rescues 56 people after Dashami festival tableau collapse in Janakpur



JANAKPUR: Nepali Army successfully rescued 56 people trapped when a tableau being paraded during the Dashami festival cultural fair in Janakpur collapsed on Friday night.

The incident occurred at the premises of Mata Rajdevi Temple, where the tableau broke while being taken around during the festivities. All those trapped were safely rescued under the leadership of the Nepali Army, with support from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police.

A religious fair is held annually in the area during Bijaya Dashami, organized by local committees including the Mahavir Youth Committee and the Shriram Youth Committee.

The rescue operation involved JCBs and cranes brought in from various agencies to ensure the safe evacuation of all trapped individuals.
