High Court rejects bail plea of Rabi Lamichhane



DANG: The Butwal bench of the Dang High Court has rejected the bail plea of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently held at Nakkhu Jail in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

The court, presided over by Justice Sagar Bishta, ordered the submission of a report on the matter after hearing the petition filed by Lamichhane’s wife, Nikita Poudel Lamichhane, seeking his release.

Nikita had filed a writ petition at the Butwal bench of the High Court in Tulsipur, requesting her husband’s release on bail. Lamichhane had requested bail after depositing the amount fixed by the court.

Earlier, the District Court of Rupandehi had also rejected a similar bail request.

Ravi Lamichhane has been in custody for four months in connection with the Supreme Cooperative Scam case and is currently serving his sentence at Nakkhu Prison.
