Two dead in motorcycle accident in Dolakha



DOLAKHA: Two people were killed in a motorcycle accident at Ramitedanda, Bhimeshwar Municipality-6, Dolakha, on the Lamosangu–Jiri road section, police said.

The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Shiris Basnet, president of the Free Student Union (FSU) at Gaurishankar Multiple Campus, and 26-year-old Shyam Bahadur Khatri of Baiteshwar-3.

According to Dolakha Police, the accident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba. 3 Pa 8899) ridden by Basnet collided head-on with another motorcycle (Ba. Pra. 02-034 Pa 3242) coming from the opposite direction. Both victims were rushed to Charikot for treatment but were declared dead upon arrival at Chorolpa Hospital.

The other motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
